I am a big Fred Perrin fan because his Griffe Design in a small knife curved blade with a Finger hole between the handle and blade is the very best for the Ultimate Self-Defense Knife. It's my EDC and I carry it around my neck on a chain. Super-light like a feather. Bastien Coves (Bastinelli Creations) hit a Homerun with the Ligament collabaration with Fred Perrin. They had Fox Knives of Italy make this production run and the Bastinelli Ligament is a solid 9 out of 10. It is so comfortable and solid in your hand. With your Index finger through the hole and thumb on the gimping for your thumb on the spine above the hole (ring) it is basically Impossible for anyone to knock this knife out of your hand while you use it! It is so light and balanced. My girlfriend is in completely in love with it and wears if for protection. A+++ perfect to wear around your neck or side-carry on your belt or in her purse or in your car's middle front-seat storage box. I am 6'3 with big hands and even though it is small it is "exactly" what you need in case of an emergency. Perfect size for the "Fred Perrin" self-defense Griffe experience. If you seriously want to also give your girlfriend, sister, mother, wife etc....... an amazing, high-quality self-defense knife that will last her a life-time (M390 steel) this is the Ultimate Loving Gift. So light, great Micarta thin comfortable grip. I can't say enough good things about this Super-Star. And the curved Karambit blade has just the right curve, not too much and still gives an amazing cutting area for many great angles/motions (horizontal/across) and a super-sharp tip for holding it vertically and poking outward with the tip and/or then continuing the motion downward and or 45% angle after the initial poke if a light delicate poke was not enough (which it is, amazingly sharp and effective with the curved blade and then your thumb pressing down and guiding controlling the tip). This is a 10 for self-Defense. High Quality, worth every penny at $280. Hopefully you will never have to use it in your Lifetime for Self-Defense but you know the saying "You never want to get caught in a situation without help". I also use it for cutting things like rope, opening boxes, the Curved Karambit Blade is like a "Hawkbill" blade used by electricians, workman etc which is excellent for many different applications. But everytime I use use it for cutting something around the house or outside, I kinda feel guilty. I basically just want to keep it "Perfect" to hang around my neck for Self-Defense if the situation ever happened. Maybe buy 2, one to carry for fun and easily cut hundreds of things and one as a Self-Defense Knife.
