Enrique Pena X-Series Apache Front Flipper Knife Blue Denim Micarta 2.6" Satin (EK Exclusive)

I bought this knife a couple months ago. I really wanted to like this knife. The aesthetics are top-notch. It has titanium, M390, and even a beautiful blue denim micarta. But it was built like it was destined for a flea market bargain bucket. The light blue micarta turns greasy black when you pick it up. I contacted eknives and they said to oil the scales. I tried that and instead of going from light blue to black, it goes from dark blue to indigo. That's an improvement, but I still should have returned it. Today, when cleaning and oiling the pivot (and scales cause I have to do that now), I noticed that it was never properly finished, before being bead-blasted. The edges, the threads, detent, and milling on both the blade and handle all have sharp burrs everywhere that isn't immediately visible. This blade is pathetic and I should have trusted my instinct to return this knife when I had the chance. I have never paid so much for such a poor knife before, and considering that eknives knew about these problems and still sold them is disappointing.

This knife is beautifully sharp right out of the box, and I love the handle and style and the blade size. The one thing that bugs me is that I can't flip it with one hand. That might change over time, but other than that it is great and fine.

I’ve been very happy with with knife so far. Fires hard, came screaming sharp and has great fit n finish. Couldn’t ask for more in this price range.

To be honest this was a present for my husband. The color and quality of the knife seemed inaccurate. The blue tone rubbed cake out black with messy light rub around the clip and the overall function was painful to retract the knife and not at all comfortable action. He said he could get used to the action but the look of the design of the scales was too bad to keep. We needed up returning this knife.

I have been using this knife like a haptic tool,love the smoothness and ease to to flick,its very addictive to me.

I’m going to start with this… this is the sharpest knife I think I have ever laid my hands on out of the box.. I mean seriously.. it’s crazy.. I love this thing.. I have micro tech OTFs and honestly, I like playing with this thing a lot more.. super smooth action.. lastly.. I LOVE the traditional styles in modern material.. so beautiful and feels perfect in the pocket

This EDC is perfection. Top quality, very good looking. Detent is perfect, blade is dead centered.
