The updated GEN 2 MAC2 has arrived, and we didn't even know it could get better!
This new generation packs the upgrades for an even better and smoother performing knife.
All hardware is now made in the USA with the Body and Clip Screws upgraded to Titanium.
The Bearings are from TiConnector and are now Ceramic with a Delrin Cage.
The Standoffs look the same, however they are now threaded, allowing body screws on both sides of the handle for a stronger hold rather than having pins on the lockside.
On top of that, the Standoffs now have shoulders that fit into counterbores, making them act as locating pins to hold everything together more precisely.
Finishing it off is an upgraded milled pocket for the base of the clip to prevent side to side movement of the clip!
The McNees Performance Machined Line is a labor of love. McNees wanted to bring a more affordable line of knives to the market but would only do it if he could keep them made in the USA. This is not the easiest or most profitable route but it's important to him as a Maker. All the outsourced work on these is done in the USA with the majority of the work done by McNees in his shop in Tuscaloosa, Alabama... including fitting locks, detents and sharpening.
As his company continues to grow, his plan will be to bring more processes in house.
The MAC 2 is an extremely pocket friendly and ergonomic design. With lines that flow open or closed. it sports all the features of a full custom.
This is his newest model...complete with a 3.5" Blade. The people asked and McNees Custom Knives listened!

Mcnees knives my favorite knifes. the simplicity but quality craftsmanship. the action is amazing, flips like butter. I work mine fairly hard and it holds up.

Instant favorite. Blade to handle ratio is amazing, you get a blade that would normally be on an 8inch+ knife while still having a knife that’s at 7.6inch. it feels like it could take on anything you throw at it. The milling is great, the blade shape/geometry is great, ergos are on point, the thwack upon deployment is satisfying, the action is smooth and feels of quality. No knife is perfect but this is about as close as it gets for me. I think the stop pin could be a hair bigger, it’s fine, but just for assurance purposes. The thumb studs do take some getting used to, but your thumb will eventually get used to it, I think despite them taking a little getting used to, they are aesthetically amazing on this knife though. Amazing heavy duty edc.
