New Troodon. Great knife. Great service.

I own a variety of Microtechs and daily carry/use several models. The CT’s were always a little stiff in the action, however the gen 3 is almost comparable to an ultratech. Super smooth deployment, great lockup, and as always razor sharp edge from the factory. The revised glass breaker is a much smaller profile, and the frame feels smaller all around. However you’re getting more knife in a slightly smaller package. Microtech knocks it out of the park once again!

Wow! This is the best! I had a Troodon but it always felt just a little shy of what I wanted. It was a Microtech so any shortcomings were of my own design, not the manufacturer’s. Decided to take the plunge and ordered the new Gen III Combat Troodon. Frame is excellent. Blade deploys so smoothly with the dual fuel system. Blade itself was very sharp right out of the box. To be honest most of the Microtechs I own are carried little. They’re not safe queens, I just don’t have need to use an EDC like I used to. But I have a feeling this one is going to change all that and get carried a lot. The size is just what I wanted and is sturdy enough that I won’t hesitate to use it for any task. Absolutely worth the wait! And a huge thanks to eknives.com for their continued excellent service!

Wow, I owned a Troodon years ago and the Gen 3 Combat Troodon is way better, super sharp and the new clip and glass breaker is amazing

This new Combat Troodon performs better than the last version released by Microtech . This knife is a little bit sleeker and its action is much easier than its predecessor. You will have no problem opening it. The window breaker on the butt of the knife has been re-engineered to be low profile and the pocket clip is slimmer. It is also a little bit bigger opened up than the last type. In my opinion, bigger is better! I love the power of single action knives, but for a double action knife, this one is a very good choice!

I have a 22 model and now this one and let me tell you the new 24 model is a vast improvement. It's barely larger, but feels smaller, it's lighter, and the new duel fuel firing system is majestic. All Microtech models should incorporate this new system. Feels very solid and reliable when firing. My only complaint would be that I like the grooves in the older model better than the smoother sides of the 24 midel. Overall the 22 will be shelfed and the 24 will be carried.
