    Microtech went backwards on...

Posted by David on Dec 28th 2024

Microtech went backwards on this. They gave us everything we wanted. Lighter weight. Longer blade. The elimination of the elongated glass breaker but then it is the sloppiest OTF I own. I have a gen 2 combat troodon. It fires hard as hell. Retracts hard as hell and the is almost not blade play. The Gen three has so much blade play I can wiggle it open or closed and hear and see the blade move. Also the blade is considerably slower at opening and closing compared to previous generations. And actually lags slower opening vs closing. It doesn’t feel like a knife at the price point. And to be honest I have 50 dollar OTF knives that fire harder and have less blade play. I would recommend purchasing a gen 2.
