Microtech Cypher II OTF Automatic Knife Marbled Blue Aluminum 3.5" M390 Wharncliffe Stonewash 1241-10MBL

Next to the Scarab 2 Gen. 3, this is one of my favorite Microtech automatics thus far. I own a couple versions of the original Cypher series and feel that the Cypher 2 is better on all fronts. The main thing that turned me off about the 1st model is how long it is VS its thinness. The blade is over 4", but pretty thin overall (blade and handle) compared to others of comparable lengths like the Scarab or Combat Troodon. I felt like if I used either of them for anything heavy duty (which honestly I never really put any of my knives through) it could break! With the Cypher 2 everything has been improved, especially the length, which is shortened to a nice and balanced 3.5" blade. The pocket clip with the tungsten/ceramic ball, the new drive train, the screwless handle, etc. all make the 2 series much better. I feel like the Cypher 2 series is the ultimate "gentleman's" automatic knife with the shortened, and still "thin" profile. I'd like to see Microtech release the Cypher 2 with a satin finished blade to compliment this feel! Currently and for the foreseeable future I will be carrying this knife as a backup in my back pocket along with a manual knife (currently the Amphibian) in my front pocket. The dual fuel system really deploys with authority and the handle is substantial enough for a big hand. Microtech knives are quality built and EKnives is great to work with as always!

Cypher 2 is perfect OTF. New action is butter. Blade is EDC perfect at 3.5. Slightly smaller than original which makes it a banger. The best quick delivery from EK as always !

The Cypher II, is probably my favorite out of the Gen 3 so far. Absolutely love everything about it. EKnives is and always will be my go to! Amazing people!! Never fail to deliver in every aspect!!

The new Microtech Cypher II (Gen 3) OTF Auto is just one of the newest releases to hit the market! I finally got a knife that fits my hand (5.6” handle) and the new “Drivetrain” is the absolute smoothest of any Microtech OTF knife I’ve launched! This knife feels so smooth and looks so clean because they removed all of the handle screws…A large Torx nut secures the handle, the ceramic ball clip and creates a great lanyard spot! Also, new for 2024 is the “Krud Kutter”, under the thumb drive, to eat any “pocket lint” or trash. The M390MK blade is nice and long, at a full 4 inches. This is the perfect OTF in my opinion. The wharncliffe blade is very useful for all my real life tasks. It looks cool and has no visible screws on the outside. Very clean design. I was bummed the blade spine came with a dent in it though. And there is a little spring ring as well.
