    Blade won't lock open.

Posted by Christophe HA on Jun 5th 2025

I've purchased this blade to see if it compares to my Deadlocks from Gavin Hawk and... I laughed out loud as it failed to lock open on my 1st try. when it does lock open (I have to open it towards the ground) the blade is pretty solid... but to me this is just a bad joke not even a discount version of the Deadlock... I've purchased the Microtech Ultratech Gen III ZBP OTF Automatic Knife Black 3.5" M390 Dagger Black 1122-1T. It's too bad I cannot post the video I took, we would have had a laugh together... I am now trying to return it or exchange it but I have very lil faith in Microtech as it kinda broke the trust... I have a few Deadlocks and I've never had any sorts of issues with any of them. I understand the price tag is from 2 different dimensions but so far... worth my money! Thanks Microtech but no thanks. (for me) Now waiting to see the customer service... C.

    Solid OTF!

Posted by Ryan Howard on Mar 15th 2025

First off, Eknives has officially earned my loyalty as my Microtech dealer for life! Their pricing is fantastic, I received free next-day shipping, and they even threw in a bandaid! 10/10 experience! (For reference, I live about three hours away, so shipping times may vary—duh!) Huge thanks to Eknives! (Not sponsored just like knives) Microtech ZBP I now own two ZBP D/E models, one in stonewash and one in DLC. ZBP Mechanism (8/10): Feels solid, but I do have some doubts about long-term durability. I’d estimate it might need a tune-up in 6–12 months. Gen III Add-ons: This is where the knife really shines! Mainly the Dual Fuel, it’s a game changer for MT! In my opinion, it even feels better than the Kershaw Livewire. Stonewash vs. DLC Both versions feel nearly identical except for one thing—the DLC-coated trigger. Deployment on the DLC model is slightly grittier and less satisfying compared to the stonewash version. I expect it will smooth out with time, but it’s something worth noting. Overall, I’m impressed with the ZBP and thrilled with my experience at Eknives. Can’t wait for my next purchase! Going for the CT or Scarab II!
