A friendship that started well over 20 years ago between Pro-Tech Knives, Mike “Whiskers” and Denise Allen has proven once more that great minds think and create amazing knives together. It’s great that all these years later ProTech is able to create the innovative Pro-Tech Whiskers collaboration knife based on Mike’s fantastic bolster release mechanism. Upon first glance there is nothing about the BR-1.7 to make you suspect it’s an automatic knife (no button of course). The BOLSTER section of the handle slides up – this very deliberate movement is what fires the blade open and also unlocks it from the open position.
