Spartan-Rōnin Shintō - Shinto meaning, “The practice of establishing a connection between the ways of the old and the ways of the new.” This knife is a great balance of old and new design and form making for a highly functional combat knife. Tu Lam is a retired Special Forces soldier, "Green Beret" and teammate of the Spartan Blades founders during their time in Okinawa where they worked as snipers; Tu Lam was part of an assault troop in the same company. DON’T DO IT!!
Don’t even think about buying knives from anyone but EKnives. Veterans, First Responders, Civilians…we all need to support this amazing company who supports our country and communities. I keep saying the knife I buy from EK is great, but the buying experience is spectacular!! I only give EK my business, and finding the Spartan Blades Ronin Shinto on their site was fortuitous. I’ve searched high and low for a fixed blade that doubles as a survival/field knife and Self-Defense option and the Ronin Shinto is just that. With its recurve blade shape and thickened tip w/swedge makes it great for chopping and slicing. And the finger choil is fantastic for choking up, with textured grip ensuring you don’t lose your grip. I am so pleased with this knife, and to find the perfect all-in-one package at EKnives is remarkable to me. The only negative thing was that horrible nylon sheath. I purchased the Chattanooga Leather sheath directly from Spartan Blades since EKnives doesn’t carry it, but I wish they did.
