Launched in the summer of 2018, TRM was not able to keep up with public demand for the original Neutron Liner Lock. Despite its overwhelming popularity, hundreds of customers clamored for a deep pocket carry clip and more scale options like its big brother, the ATOM.
To celebrate the Neutron’s 2nd birthday, Three Rivers decided it was time to respond to the repeated requests from their customers.
The Neutron 2 (aka NEWtron) was launched in September 2019.
With new pocketed liners allowing for a wide range of customizations with scale materials and machining options, the new Neutron 2 quickly became a favorite for the EDC community.
TRM does a great job of adding a special feature or 2 to all of their knives, and the Neutron 2 is no exception.
Besides the pocketed liners, the scale hole patterns have been repositioned to accommodate its new deep pocket titanium clip OR a standard Neutron Classic bent titanium clip, which is available for purchase separately.
All other Neutron features, including the .090” thick blade stock, 3” long CPM 20CV powdered metal blade steel, and custom-made titanium thumbstuds and barrel spacers, are unchanged. Of course, the Neutron 2 is sleek, lightweight (2.5oz) and razor-sharp right out of the box.
All TRM Neutron 2’s are 100% manufactured and assembled in the USA utilizing US materials (Fat Carbon is manufactured in Lithuania).
TRM proudly & patriotically etch USA on all of their blades!

Simply outstanding.
First off the service from this place was way above expectations (my first time ordering here). I received my package within 3 days of ordering. I ordered in middle of the night as well I believe. Shipping was extremely quick. Package had a little candy bar in there, I appreciate the touch. I will be buying more from here in the future, especially when looking for Microtech. The small touches from the note and what included things in the package to the shipping really set it apart from a lot of places. Thank you. As for the knife. First off it had one fault with it, I will give it 5 stars because I used it a lot in following week to see how it performs and it passed with flying colors. Anyway the knife was not centered, the blade was very close to one of the scales. It took about 2-3m to fix that, it didn't bother me as much since it didn't give me grief as some Hinderers did and especially some BMs. Anyway from there it was smooth sailing. The construction for everything else was superb. Locked up great, action was closer to a CRK than what I expected. To me that was a good thing. To be concise. Knife is perfect size for my hand and pocket. It carries extremely well. The wood handles make it extremely light. It is thin with a deep carry clip. I don't feel it at all in the pocket. The pocket clip has slightly wider gap between the knife and it, but it's not a big deal. I have no issue how this thing feels in the hand. Honestly, clip notwithstanding, it felt similar to a Rosie. All in all for all tasks I'd normally put this through the handle is perfect. All that aside, what really set this apart is how it cuts (and slices). I actually laughed out loud when I started cutting things. It simply passes through material effortlessly. I cut all sorts of crap with it. Cloth, rope, cardboard, paper, tape, rubber, some plastic packaging, on and on. I went out of my way to see how it holds up. It is simply absurd how well it goes through things. I used it way beyond the scope I will normally use a knife like this for and it simply excelled. Heat treatment on it is great. Edge was still fantastic even after all the borderline abuse I put it through. Lockup was still on point and it remained on center. Then another boon is that you can swap scales easily. After I saw how much I liked this thing I went to grab a set of Ti scales. If I could improve anything on this I would simply tweak the clip to be a little bit more shallow, but that isn't something that requires to change the actual knife. This is my first TRM knife, which honestly seems odd considering the kind of knives I normally buy, use and collect. It certainly won't be my last. Performance wise this thing is absolutely incredible. It hardly feels like anything in the pocket, it melts in my hand and suited for any and all light tasks I encounter on daily basis. Cheers again to EKnives, this was a fantastic purchase and service.
