Kershaw RUBY 40TH Anniversary Knife Unveiled @ 2014 Shot Show
Posted by Clayton on Jan 7th 2014
So last week we were at the 2014 Shot show in Vegas and we were happy to see the revealing of the 40th anniversary folder by Kershaw Knives who began their journey in the knife business in 1974.
The first thing we noticed when entering the booth area was the Kershaw logo, deemed Kershaw 4.0. They have given it an update to show their commitment to constantly innovating new state of the art designs and materials. I gotta say I love it!
The Kershaw Ruby, however is a 40th Anniversary limited edition knife to demonstrate the milestone by KAI. It features a full titanium frame lock flipper with very showy ruby red standoffs. The blade is a black DLC coated ZDP with 40th Anniversary markings, 4040 model, and various graphics designs.
I asked a Kershaw employee how many were going to be produced and he said a number had not been determined. The MSRP on it will be $500 which really surprised me as it sounded more like a ZT price given Kershaw knives are known for their affordable price tag.
They are definitely taking pride in this Ruby with this price point but it is a limited edition collectors piece so I have no issue with that. My guess is at the end of the day you can get your hands on one for around $300-$350 if you don't wait too long.
No date was given on the release of this beautiful Kershaw Ruby but as soon as we have a date we will let you know so you can get your hands on one. I was told the pre orders were massive so we will try to get some info as soon as possible.
Click Here to go to the product page and click "add to waitlist" button to be notified as soon as we get some in. You will have to register an account to be notified (email and password) which is quick and easy in the upper right hand corner of the site. Thanks and we look forward to getting our hands on the Kershaw Ruby soon!
