RAT (Randall's Adventure & Training) Series Knives From Ontario Knife Company

The term RAT refers to Randall's Adventure & Training (www.jungletraining.com) for those who are unaware of such a term. The highly popular and well known brand has been around since 1997 as a hard use gear and manufacturing company as well as a professional outdoor training and expedition team.

Randall's has provided extensive training for the Armed Forces, Police and television and motion picture crews. As you can see it is obvious that the RAT team knows the outdoors so who better to design a line of outdoor survival knives?

The field grade knives are some of the best and most recognized ranging from Bushcraft and Law Enforcement to overseas Military in the throws of the Middle East chaos.

Randall's would develop the first RTAK, a combination machete and sheath knife that would do the work of both without the thin, flexible and dullness of the two knives characteristics. Wicked Knife Co would produce the knife but As popularity grew, a much larger outfit would sign on in 2002 called Ontario Knife Company.

OKC would produce the RTAK along with many other models over the next five years under contract with RAT. The culmination of this joint venture would proved lucrative. Here are the RTAK models produced by OKC we currently sell @ eKnivesStore.com.

Ontario RAT Model 1 (RAT-1) Folder features a 3.6 inch AUS-8 blade with flat grind, reversible thumb stud, ergonomic handles and 4 way pocket clip. It is held by a Nylon 6 handle and weighs just 5 ounces.

Ontario RTAK-II (RAT II) survival knife is a massive Randall's Adventure & Training design manufactured by Ontario Knife Co for outdoor use by military, law and hunting adventurers. The RTAK 2 comes equipped with a whopping 10.25" 1095

carbon steel drop point blade with a green foliage zinc phosphate finish. It has a full tang, green linen micarta handles (removable for cleaning) a heavy nylon sheath with liner and front gear pocket incorporated.

Ontario RAT-3 is a survival and utility knife made for outdoorsmen and Military/Law enforcement who need an efficient cutting tool. It features a 3 7/8" black powder coated 1095 carbon steel blade for sinister looks and even better cutting power. The molded Blade-Tech sheath is adaptable to fit common military applications.

It comes with a standard Tek-Loc and boot clip to be carried left or right handed. The OKC RAT 3 can also be carried around the neck (neck knife). The common Micarta handles often found on the RAT series are used for supreme gripping power.

Ontario RAT-5 knife from OKC is one heckuva knife for outdoors or military operations as it is virtually indestructible. It features a 5" 1095 drop point carbon steel blade with a Rockwell hardness of 55-57. The blade is non reflective phosphate coating and it has a texture notch thumb rest for secure grip. Full tang with green micarta handles and skull crusher pommel with lanyard hole. The black cordura nylon sheath is included with a kydex liner.
