The Zero Tolerance 0560 models are Rick Hinderer designed tactical folders from the company that specializes in hard use tactical knives. The ZT 560 was introduced at the 2011 Blade Show and since then sales have been stellar. It is based off of Rick Hinderers XM-18 that was hugely popular.

Blade

The ZT Knives 0560 features a 3.75" Elmax stonewashed blade that now comes in a Limited Run black finish. The drop point blade has a hollow grind and .16" thickness. The integrated "flipper" makes one handed opening a breeze. The first few flips of the flipper and the blade was hesitant to roll out quickly. It would hand at about half way unless I really hit it hard.

After several weeks of use I was impressed with the smoothness of the blade roll out. The more I deployed it the better it got. The  KVT (Kershaw Velocity Technology) assisted open mechanism only got better the more I used it. KVT is a ball bearing system used at the pivot point to roll out the blade smoothly.

There are dual thumb studs should you want to use them (not likely) but I really don't see the need considering the flipper is easy to get to and fires the blade quickly with no almost no effort.

Handle

The ZT 560 handle measures 5" long and is 3D machined G-10 on the front with 3D machined  6AL4V Titanium back frame lock for solid blade lockup. This baby locks up hard with no blade play or wiggle whatsoever.
