Chaves makes many knives with variations on those designs. Wasn't sure how I would feel about the kickstop, but went for it anyways. I gotta say this is another win. I own a lot of different brands in different price points, but I just keep gravitating towards Chaves for my edc. Like many, I'm on that quest to find the perfect knife and I believe this company has done just that.

Kickstop...
This knife came with a strong detent (which I now prefer) and fantastic action. I usually prefer thumbstud openers, but this rendition of the Kickstop mechanism is my favorite so far. Overall, this knife is a beast and one of my favorite carries of all time. My only wish is that the clip screws were inverted like the older models and the RCK9.

First off this is my first order from EK really appreciate the chocolate and bandaid Clay lol will definitely be ordering more from here. Now the knife is amazing, built like a tank and smooth as butter deploying. This won’t be my everyday carry since I live in Chicago and need something quick which is my fox Karambit but if Chaves comes out with something that has the emerson wave feature I’m buying it in a heartbeat. Dope knife overall highly recommend for any knife junkie

I've quite a few flippers from Spyderco, Medford, & Hinderer - quite a few Hinderer Tri-Way Flippers - o can say that the Chaves Rendencion 229 Kickstop is a touch smoother than the Hinderers I've had. That's really saying something. The only action that's ever been soother has been a Medford. The only gripe I have about the Chaves is that the back corners could be rounded off a little- it's not bad though, you do get used to it. Still, this is a 5* blade.
