I purchased the Exocet for my Wife, as a Valentine's day gift. She is a Nurse in an ER. Having worked in the ER myself, I know the possible threats she faces, from patients and family members, and the lack of Security the hospital has. They carry a pepper spray device, that's it. She needed something that she could carry easily in her scrubs, and this seemed just the thing. She is very happy with it! Out of the box, the knife is sharp enough to shave hair cleanly! We only know this because she tried it on me... The action is very smooth, with just a little bit of difficulty the first few times you deploy and retract the blade. The feeling of the knife in your hand is good. Not bulky, but also not so you feel it might fall apart in your hand. We hope that she never has to use it for self defense, but she is happy to know that she has a great tool at hand, if the extreme need is ever warranted.
