Yes, I would like a stronger detent, but cannot fault this otherwise, especially for the money. I've spine whacked the crap out of it, I have tried hard to make the lock fail and it cannot be done, at least on my version. It is very well built. Centring is ever so slightly favouring the pocket clip side. Time will tell regarding heat treatment and the like, but Microtech have been very good for many years now and as far as a 'budget' option goes, this is awesome!! Lastly, shout out to E Knives, my new favourite retailer by far, responsive, quick, great customer service, everything, really happy I found them.

Microtech MSI is a little on the big side but absolutely a great EDC knife. This cheaper version of the MSI is still solid and the locking mechanism is very strong.

I am writing this review pretty early on, so not much use time but I love it. Definitely prefer a different material for the scales, but I’m getting use to the polymer and it feels pretty light weight for how big the knife is.

This has to be one of the best folders I have owned. Lock up is tight. When open there is no play between the blade and the handle. It is everything i expected from Microtech. Have yet to get anything bad from Microtech

I have been lurking on this site for a while now and finally decided to make an order as the MSI ram lock was restocked. Ordered Sunday night, delivered in Wednesdays mail. Super fast processing and shipping. Top notch company that will get more of my business for sure. Onto the knife... Ever since the ram-lok was announced, I was intrigued as I am a huge fan of one handed open/close knives. Sure, autos are great and fun, but nothing beats the functionality and fidget factor of a true one handed setup. The MSI delivered. The ram lock is super easy to use, lockup is very tight and the knife is the perfect size for my uses. I debated on waiting for the G10/Carbon/Alum version as I was skeptical of the polymer however, it's solid and great for every day tasks. Minimal to no flex and lightweight. Plus having a quality USA knife that doesn't break the bank makes the polymer worth it. I like it enough that once the stitch and amphibian are available, I will order those as well.
