At 70% the size of the Ultratech, the UTX-70 is small enough to fit in a watch pocket. Its nimble size means you could fit it into any bag or pocket, or even hang it on a key ring. When you need the functionality of a hard-use cutting tool, without the size and weight of a full-size knife, the UTX-70 is a perfect choice.

Cali Legal OTF
Perfect balance of utility, precision quality, and general awesomeness. My options for OTF’s are limited living in California, however purchasing this knife does NOT feel like settling. Very happy!

MT UTX70...
Cool mini otf from Microtech. Expensive for what it is. Nonetheless if you live in Ca it’s a solid option.

Great cali legal OTF
Extremely fast shipping from eknives. Blade came in very sharp. Product was as described. Great OTF for states that required certain blade length to be under 2”. Would recommend !

Microtech UTX-70 Cali Legal OTF...
Love the knife. Though not in CA, form factor was the primary driver followed closely by reputation . This fits the bill 150%. The blade is of extremely high quality, and the edge is razor sharp. Build quality is typical for Microtech --far exceeds expectations.

Good size, stiff action.
Handle size is just big enough to get 4 fingers around it. Blade is fine in shape, although the edge seems to have been ground at approximatley 30 DPI, which will make it feel less slicey than you'd expect for how sharp it comes out of the box. The swedge was slightly rough on the edges, but smoothed up fine with a couple minutes and a strop. Blade stock measures 2.03mm/0.080in thick, thickness behind the edge on my example was 0.38mm/15 thousandths. Mine required a quick spray of dry lubricant to make the firing action consistent, which I don't consider an issue since that's in-line with Microtech's recommended maintenance routine. I have had zero misfires since I did this 1.5 weeks ago upon arrival. I used Hornady One Shot since that's what I had on hand at the time. The switch spring and firing "sear" are both extremely stiff out of the box. Expect to build new thumb muscles and potentially a callus or two in the process of owning this knife. It will break in to be slightly smoother, but not necessarily easier. Overall, I'd recommend this to a friend who needs a slim, tiny bladed knife with a small/medium grip size (if they can stomach the price tag and inability to disassemble without special tools). As a Californian option, OTFs are few and far between. If this one were easier to fire/retract, I'd have zero real issues that couldn't be fixed within a few minutes of ownership. I will be trying Gunny Magic OTF lube in the future to see if I can make the action a bit smoother.

Great...
Slick little knife. And it is little! The blade is larger than the main blade on a SAK Classic, but only just. Crisp snap on opening and closing. Fits in a 5th pocket. Knife shipped immediately, was delivered in perfect shape. EKnives clarified a question I had also. Recommend both the knife and the seller.
