But I wish it wasn’t so tight

So. I was already to become a Microtech fanboy after watching tons of Xring’s videos on youtube. Did some searching and found a single edge blue handled utx-85. Knife arrived and it felt kinda loose out of the box. I have no doubt fell into the constant flicking of the knife that the companies YouTube videos portray as common and well within the design of the knife. I got a failure within the first ten flicks. It was easily fixed but kinda concerning. This continued progressively getting worse until I was able get the knife to fail every other press of the button. This led me to call the company and talk to a nice lady who told me to oil the knife, which I did and it is now solid as a rock. No issues. So you should probably do it right out of the box. I used g96. Second issue. I noticed within the first day that the window breaking nut on the bottom of the knife was loose. After degreasing the knife I applied red loctite and again no issues. Then re-oiled the knife and I believe I am now at the point where the manufacturer wanted me to be at unboxing. So for the money and the demonstrations on social media I would not have expected to perform preventive maintenance on the knife out of the box and definitely would expect to have to loctite something that obvious. Probably won’t buy another one.

Love microtech. The UTX-85 is the perfect edc for me. Sharp and fast. And the blue, well I just love the Blues.
