The Short Bladed Rockeye, or SBR for short, is a compact version of Pro-Tech's popular full-sized Rockeye Auto.

Both knives are designed by Marine Corps knife designer Les George, who’s ergonomic hard use knives have been faithfully translated to automatic versions by Pro-Tech. The SBR features a compact design, with a 2.5″ blade that’s built for a multitude of cutting tasks. A pocket milled spine adds extra grip and depth to the design. The knife snaps open with authority thanks to Pro-Tech's coil spring automatic mechanism.
Don’t let its size fool you, the SBR is a bantam powerhouse.

    Perfect...

Posted by Jonathan Pilgrim on Jun 23rd 2024

I wanted a small folding knife made from quality materials from a company that stands behind their products. When I unboxed the ProTech LG405, I was delighted with the quality of its construction and the action of the deployment of the knife. The knife was sharp out of the box. I tested how long the blade would remain sharp by using it cut up an apple, then some old rope and then some chicken breast tenderloin. The knife performed excellent. I am completely happy with this purchase.

    Cool Knife, Underwhelming...

This knife feels awesome in the hand, and it carries smaller in the pocket than it looks. I'd credit that to the deep carry clip. The action is super snappy and typical Pro-Tech. The blade was a let down though. The grind of the bevel is uneven out by the tip on one side, and it's not very sharp from the factory. It's downright dull from the end of the belly out to the tip. I've bought plenty of $30-$40 pocket knifes that were way sharper from the factory.
