The EXO from Reate is a gravity OTF knife. By pinching the handle scales and dropping the frame at an angle, you can easily slide the blade in and out with nothing but gravity. If you haven't guessed it already, this means hours of quality fidgeting! That aside, the build and materials of this knife are Reate standard: simply excellent and endlessly functional. The EXO boasts flawless fit and finish, smooth action, and a razor edge to meet your cutting needs. It includes a leather slip sheath and belt loop attachment so you can carry it without fear of being poked.

When gravity is your friend. Or not.

Posted by Dave McCann on Jan 9th 2023

Interesting concept. Let gravity do the work. This knife was ordered out of curiosity, nothing similar in my collection. It was well constructed (in China), and came with both edges sharp. After playing with it, the knife presented and retracted the blade predictably. More of a toy than an actual tool. It was always interesting to give it to a friend with no operating hints. Lots of comments. It’s definitely not an EDC. Too many variables concerning safety. But it does provide a unique solution to blade presentation, and it’s interesting to operate.

An extremely well built gravity knife!

This knife is truly the definition of an amazing gravity knife. It’s similar in action to the old German paratrooper knives, minus the release lever. Still a great buy nonetheless.
