All the benefits of a gravity knife on a budget!

Posted by Colby Phillips on Apr 26th 2025

This is my EDC for work. I used to have the Reate Exo Mini and while it’s a great knife, I was very careful using that one. With this I get all the same benefits a gravity knife brings and at less than $100 I feel more comfortable putting this through the wringer, and I can just replace the utility blade when needed. I really like the magnetic lock button, but that’s also where I have my only complaint. With it being magnetic it’s a bit easier to unlock by accident in your pocket, it’s not a common problem but twice I have reached into my pocket only to notice my knife was deployed. Luckily I never got seriously cut. Other than that I love this knife.

    Poor...

Utility blade can wiggle past the retaining clip that holds it in place causing the blade to fall/slide out while cutting. Contacted Reate and haven’t received a reply back

    Poor locking/retaining spring.

Blade slides out while cutting due to the poorly designed retaining clip that holds the utility blade. Def would have steered clear of this one. So I hope this helps yall!
