Its most distinctive characteristic is its blade, which is precision machined from CPM® M4—a special-purpose high-speed tool steel produced by the particle metallurgy process. A popular choice for high-end custom blades and knives used in competitive cutting, CPM M4's advanced alloy composition, high vanadium content, and extremely fine grain structure give it exceptional wear resistance and toughness—properties that translate to outstanding edge retention and impact resistance in knife blades. The PlainEdge™ blade of this knife is full-flat ground for low-friction cutting performance and boasts a non-reflective black Diamond Like Carbon (DLC) coating.
Equally unique, the handle of this remarkable knife features stainless steel liners nested into textured natural G-10 scales. The near-translucent quality of the G-10 highlights the knife’s lightweight, open-backed handle construction and its sturdy LinerLock mechanism. To ensure ease of carry and keep the knife poised for a rapid draw, the handle includes a stainless steel pocket clip configured for right-side tip-down carry. To complement the blade's low-profile DLC finish, the knife's clip and all handle hardware are also black coated.
