Chaves 229 Sangre
Love Chaves knives and this is another one that does not disappoint. Great Wharnie blade, killer belt satin look , sharp as hell and great action. Another great knife from Chaves..

" super tight"
Firstly, E knives = awesome, 2nd, I got this sangre because I think it looks mean, and what I wanted was out of stock everywhere . The Reate quality is still amazing. Maybe too amazing here ? when I say this knife is tight... I mean its crazy tight. From the detent to the pivot . Even the clip is crazy tight . And its to thick to adjust tension. When you take the knife apart you can see just how tight Reate's tolerances are . Especially when you separate the scales , the stop pin and back spacer pins take some doing to get out . I Cant even loosen the lock bar to lighten up the detent cause it only moves enough to lockout. With any less pressure I dont think it would lock . The lock bar is super strong wear your thumb out if you fidget to much but it works. Theres absolutely No play in anything . It's just one of those tuff boys. I'll end up breaking the tip off but still I like it .

Lives up to the hype
This is my first Reate-built knife. I’ve heard good things for years but prefer to buy American. I really love a good wharncliffe, though…so I decided to pull the trigger. Honestly, I couldn’t be happier with it. The fit and finish reminds me of a Koenig Arius (really), it’s a perfect size for my XL hands and it carries very well in the pocket. I took a star off for the absolutely dumb decision to put external screws on the clip. If any knife deserves internal clip screws, it’s this one. Other than that, it’s perfect.

UPDATED REVIEW
I went from a 3 star to a 4 star because after about a week, the knife is beginning to loosen up and open how it should.. this knife is sharper than you could ever believe.. that tip will just go right through anything without hesitation.. I do recommend this knife.. just be aware it’s going to take a week or 2 to break it in and your thumbs not to be worn down to little bloody nubs
