Chinese...
In the past, when researching knives, I would skip over anything made in China. I jut happened to come across Chavez knives, made by Reate. The more I looked, the more I realized that Reate was the real deal. And yes, made in China. So after debating for about a month, I bought the Chavez Liberation 229. WOW! Fantastic knife. I have several knives, more fixed blades than folders, but still enough to tell what quality is. The Chavez is, in my opinion, made better than Benchmade, and Spyderco. It's even better than Lionsteel, and IM a Lionsteel fanboy. Buy one, you wont regret it.

Chaves Liberation
This knife is gorgeous and locks up super tight. I was apprehensive about the pocket clip; however, sits plenty deep in the pocket and adds some nice character to an already ideal folder. This knife is a winner, no question.

Love my new Chaves
First off, I want to thank the team at Eknives for their great customer service and communication! Kudos! The liberation 229 is a very solid knife- can't go wrong with M390 and titanium. It came very sharp, and despite what others have said, I haven't had any issues with getting cut while carrying. If I had any complaints, however, it's that the pocket clip is a little tight and the frame-lock is a little sensitive to pressure. To me, those are minor problems. I really do like it and it feels worth every penny. As a side note, the skull pocket clip is definitely polarizing, but I like that it's easily recognizable to other knife nerds - makes for interesting conversation.

I rarely comment on much, This was a heck of a birthday gift. Locks up tight, super smooth action, Fit and Finish was perfect, Did I mention how smooth it opens. You’ll love it.
