The best just got an upgrade! The all New Combat Troodon Delta (MK2) Frag from Microtech Knives features a textured aluminum handle for improved grip and a ported chassis to expel dirt and debris which is common in an OTF that is part of an EDC rotation. The DLC coated blade is fluted to allow for easy cleaning out. The internals are Nickel Boron coated for extra corrosion resistance. The Combat Troodon automatic OTF (out the front) knife is named after the Troodon dinosaur (Troh-o-don) and is the larger version of the Troodon OTF knife which debuted in 2006. The Combat Troodon features a 3.8" stainless steel edge plain blade with black finish. The 5.75" handle is black anodized aluminum and features DLC black hardware, glass breaker and pocket clip. Yes this is a larger OTF knife but it feels great in the hand thanks to the jimping in the handle.

    Over all not satisfied.

I bought a Combat delta frag and it came with a carbon fiber button. That was not listed in the description. Clay found a Combat with a steel button, allowed me to send this one back. When he sent the replacement it had a blunted tip the fine point had been knocked off. The baggie it came in looked a little beat up. It left me with the impression one of the used knives was sent to me. It cost me ship back plus 50 dollars because I guess it was bought with sezzle. It was not my fault it was sent to me defective or used. So not a great experience.

    CT Delta Frag

For the money the Scarab II is a lot better. I do like the frag handle. Problem was on my CT Delta Frag Shadow it had horrible "spring sing". You expect MUCH better for a $1k knife. The Scarab II is 250+ cheaper and beats this knife by miles. The Scarab II is thicker and slightly karger too. My tactical regular CT operated better than this model, so i got rid of it. It's the DLC and especially the Frag handle that gives this knife it's price, i guess. You're much better off going with a Scarab II Shadow. It's a lot more bang for the buck and it's superior to these.

Great knife but the price is not holding...

The knife itself is great. The problem is I'm seeing new ones on the market for 850 when these were almost 1000. Just not enough bang for the buck and looks like microtech is charging too much on the frag deltas as people are dumping them at 100s under retail. Just not as rare or as desirable as in years past.
