I absolutely love the Ultratech! This is my second one, getting the tanto blade this time. I really find the tanto blade useful for general, everyday cutting. I haven’t needed to use the serrated portion of the blade yet, but I’m sure it will perform flawlessly, just like the rest of the knife. The M390 blade certainly isn’t the easiest to sharpen, but with some time and perseverance, you can get a razor sharp edge on it. The best thing about this is it holds its edge much longer than lesser blade steels. I think it’s important to mention that while it’s almost 100% dependable to open and close on command, it’s imperative that it’s kept clean. The tolerances are so tight (a good thing) that the smallest bit of dirt/trash/pocket lint, can prevent it from locking open. The solution - clean it and keep it clean. My recommendation: spend the money to get one of your own … use it … keep it clean. When you do, I’m sure you’ll have no “buyer’s remorse” at all.
