As the flagship model of Microtech’s OTF lineup, the Ultratech® sets the standard for OTF technology. Proprietary technology allows the firing spring to be at rest in both the open and closed positions, drastically reducing wear on the internal firing mechanisms. The chassis handle provides a lighter and more ergonomic feel and comes in a smooth, flat finish.
The Microtech Ultratech is the first ever OTF (out the front) automatic knife produced by Microtech Knives.
It features a 3.4" blade and a 5" anodized 6061-T6 aluminum smooth handle with Ultem Cover and a black pocket clip, glass breaker and hardware.
Dual action thumb slide for automatic deployment and retraction.

Poor...
First of all, eKnives has been great through several orders and I will continue shopping with and recommending them. Great store. This was an expensive knife though, and overall it has been a disappointing purchase. The Ultem on this knife is awesome and allows you to see the action. I loved it. The blade finish is great and with the signature series, you have torx head screws, allowing easier user maintenance, which unfortunately was necessary in the first 2 weeks of owning the knife. The top screws had worked themselves loose through extremely limited fidgeting and the knife action failed completely. The spring hooks had fallen off the blade and it required disassembly. I thought about returning then because of the cost, but decided to disassemble and try fixing. It was relatively easy to put back together, so I applied a small amount of loctite to each screw and hand tightened, kind of tight, but not crazy. I guess that was too tight, because the Ultem cracked at every single hole. It took over a week for the cracks to propagate, so I think the initial torque was okay, but often it can increase as the loctite dries. I get it, this is on me. A mechanically inclined person reading this review will assume I meatfisted the screws and this is 100% user error, which is true to an extent, but this is also a hobby of mine I take pride in and have invested time and money into servicing knives properly. I wish the screws had not come loose in the first 2 weeks of fidgeting with a $400 knife. Also, this material is just a poor choice if it was this easy to crack at every single hole. I am probably going to order a new scale and this definitely reconsider plastic in OTFs. Honestly, this and other experiences with Microtech have slightly soured me to this brand.
