The Microtech UTX-85 232-15AP is a premium compact OTF automatic knife that delivers powerful performance in a refined, everyday carry size. Featuring a 3.1" double-edge dagger blade with partial serrations, this model is built for piercing strength, slicing efficiency, and versatility in both tactical and utility applications.

Finished in Microtech’s signature Bronze Apocalyptic coating, the blade and hardware showcase a rugged, distressed look that not only enhances visual appeal but also helps hide wear and scratches from real-world use. This unique finish makes each piece slightly distinct, adding to its collector value.

The UTX-85 platform, at approximately 85% the size of the Ultratech, is designed for ergonomic handling and easier actuation, making it ideal for users who want a more compact and controllable OTF knife. It retains all the core features of its larger counterpart, including a reliable double-action deployment system and integrated glass breaker.

Knife doesn’t always open. Also, I received knife 8/9 or 8/10 and called on 8/11/23 LVM, Clay, wanting to see about returning and trading for the difference on then available Dirac Delta 3.75” Dagger Stonewashed Apocalyptic Serrated 227-12AP. No one returned my call???

Fail to fire during the first hour of...

I would expect a $400 knife to be near perfect out of the box. Not only did i have a fail to fire but the button was jammed. It did start to work after I shook it a little. These are mostly hand built and tested and adjusted at the factory. Microtech needs to up their game. I have Chinese OTF that have worked flawlessly (Viper) since day one.
