The Microtech LUDT Automatic Folding Knife is a classic out-the-side automatic built around the iconic LUDT platform. This configuration features a 3.4-inch 154CM blade with a stonewash finish, combining a practical blade steel with a rugged finish that gives the knife a distinctive, hard-use appearance. The LUDT design originated from Microtech's UDT platform, introduced in 1995, and evolved into a compact automatic folder with a contoured aluminum handle and pronounced grip texturing.
The 154CM stainless steel blade offers a well-rounded balance of edge retention, toughness, and corrosion resistance, while the stonewash treatment helps create a subdued finish and can visually disguise normal handling marks. The LUDT's ergonomic aluminum construction keeps the knife relatively lightweight while providing a secure, comfortable grip. Microtech's published LUDT specifications list a blade length of approximately 3.42 inches, an overall length of 8.03 inches, and a 6061-T6 aluminum handle.
