The Schrade SCALY auto conversion is a fast opening, small auto conversion knife that is perfect for everyday carry. This little knife has incredibly fast action and nice tight lock up.
BLADE
The 440C stainless steel blade has a mirror finish. The blade is just 1.5" long (if you add in the ricasso, the blade still only measures 1.75") which makes it so it can carry the Cali-legal description. This little blade is very sharp and is easy to maintain.
HANDLE
The handle is anodized aluminum with Delrin scales. On this model the aluminum is grey and the Delrin is yellow. Kind of a bone yellow. I really like the shape of the handle, it fits well in my hand. The curve on the spine of the handle gives my thumb a perfect resting spot when I need to make some precision cuts. This compact side open auto is plenty big enough for heavy work.
SAFETY AND FIRE BUTTON
The fire button stands proud about a third of the handle distance from the blade. There is no safety but I have never had this knife accidently fire in my pocket. It doesn't have a pocket clip so it just rests at the bottom of my pocket. When the button is pushed, the blade snaps out extremely fast. Lock up is gre
