The brainchild of Spyderco co-founder Sal Glesser, the Edgerati translates his deep interest in high-performance sports cars into a remarkable knife design. Its pierced, geometric handle was inspired by the frame of the legendary “birdcage” Maserati, which revolutionized sports car design. True to that spirit, the Edgerati’s handle scales are painstakingly machined from solid aircraft-grade aluminum and hardcoat anodized to create an exceptional blend of strength, light weight, non-slip texture, and dramatic style. They also provide a view of the knife’s streamlined Compression Lock® mechanism, which consists of a stainless steel lock bar nested into a machined pocket in the obverse-side scale. The knife’s straight-spined, full-flat-ground blade is crafted from CPM® S30V® particle metallurgy stainless steel. Available in both PlainEdge™ and SpyderEdge™ configurations, it features a textured index-finger choil that allows a forward-positioned grip for enhanced control. The Edgerati’s broad-based pocket clip is reversible for left or right-side tip-up carry and complements the blade’s fully accessible Trademark Round Hole™ to allow swift, positive deployment with either hand.

Thumb Bruise - cool look
Four stars because apparently Spyderco decided the Edgerati needed to fight back a little—the cool factor is absolutely off the charts, but that compression-lock bump will smack your thumb enough times to leave a souvenir bruise. ? The 3.57” S30V blade, grey aluminum, and overall weird-cool styling make this thing an attention magnet, even if the fidget factor can’t quite hang with my Para 2. Another great pickup from EKnives—definitely not a knife for everybody, but that’s probably exactly why I like it.
