Toor Knives ultimate goal is to always move forward and innovate...and that's just what they are doing!
For the last two years the team worked to develop and fine tune their Folding Series knives. Since first introducing the folders in 2020, they have relentlessly reworked, engineered, and redeveloped them from the initial, basic designs into what they are today...the Chasm XLT folding knife!

The Chasm was originally designed as a small footprint pocketknife with the ability to tackle heavy tasks. During the first year of production, they noticed an overwhelming demand for the Tanto blade variation, and with this feedback in mind they set out to make a few substantial improvements to the design. The most notable upgrade to the new Chasm XLT is the overall thickness of the blade – it has almost doubled to a whopping 0.2" thick! This allows for much more mass in the steel at the tip giving it improved strength.

Next, Toor introduced a billet titanium milled clip, which offers substantially more strength than our previous bent clips. The new clips are machined from 6al-4v titanium, also with a starting thickness at over 0.2" thick, which is plenty of titanium for the clip to last a lifetime! Additionally, a lockbar overtravel screw was added, which prevents stress that could ultimately lead to lockup failures. This lockbar screw is custom machined in-house at Toor Knives and made from titanium like the rest of the hardware.

The new Chasm XLT also offers an innovative thumb stud design with a smooth tapered finish. The lockup action has been improved on the knife, and the open stop position is held secure by the titanium thumb studs. To ensure maximum thread retention on the thumb studs, a T8 Torx driver head was added to allow for tightening. A G10 backspacer with a lanyard hole was added to assist with the overall rigidity of the frame, and the top of the G10 backspacer is machined with jimping notches for extra grip in the palm.
Every Chasm XLT features a Black Oxide blade finish on CPM 154 steel and textured G10 show-side scale.

    No slam on eknives but………

Posted by Matt on May 22nd 2023

No slam on eknives cuz i like doing business with them but toor knives needs to back up and regroup on the chasm xlt. Its a good edc size. Love the thick blade. Like the harpoon tanto, wish the harpoon was taller. Came good and sharp. CONS: lock bar stabilizer wasnt milled down far enough and wasn’t seated. When it is seated I couldn’t fully unlock the knife, lock bar still in the way of the tang. Force it to shut and it rips the detent ball out of the frame. QC obviously knew about this before sending out the knife because I received it with the lockbar stabilizer backed off and loctited. The stabilizer is pointless really given the positioning of the pocket clip. It has a radius ground tang and lock stick from hades. The spiky sawblade finish on the g10 seems like a royal F.U. To the customer. I actually got cut by the g10. For $350 heck no. Worst purchase ive made in a long time. But who knows maybe i just got a bad one. After fixing all these issues myself. regrinding the tang, remilling the stabilizer, smoothing out the g10, backing off the lockbar, reseating the detent ball, carbonizing the lockbar face,It functions properly and smoothly. O well i like a challenge once and a while, nothing a grinder and a welder cant fix. I’ll just stick to microtechs for now on. Again its no slam on Eknives. They do a fantastic job and are good people over there. Maybe it was just a lemon.
