The Ultimate Knife for Your Collection: Best Engraved Pocket Knife
Apr 4th 2019
For the knife enthusiast, there may be no better gift than an engraved pocket knife from eKnives.
The customization may involve other features, such as a unique blade, handle, and exceptional craftsmanship.
However, the ability to add a pocket knife to your collection that’s an ode to your favorite quote, former or current battalion, or alma mater is a quick way to make it a keepsake. It may even become an heirloom to pass down through the generations.
Whether they’re custom folding knives, combat knives, or camping knives, eKnives provides high-quality knives created by the best custom knife-makers in the world. Here are just a few of our favorite pocket knives you can personalize by engraving:
1. Peter Martin “PFFK Persian”
A pre-owned mint condition knife, the Peter Martin PFFK Persian, is a uniquely crafted blade. With a 4.5-inch Lava Lamp Damascus blade of blue and gold, this knife has a 6-inch Westinghouse handle. The total length of this knife comes in at 10.25 inches and weighs 10.5 ounces. One of the best custom folding knives, it flips rather smoothly for its size.
2. Bastinelli “ReaperTAC”
A fixed blade styled like a tomahawk or scythe manufactured in Italy, the ReaperTAC has an N690co blade covered in a black ceramic coating (cerakote) and G10 contoured handle with a Tsuka wrap that improves the handler’s grip. It comes with a custom leather sheath. With a 6.7-inch blade and 9.2-inch handle, the ReaperTAC is surprisingly only 14 ounces.
3. Borka Blades “Always Survive”
This knife is the latest creation from Borka Blades and knife-maker Sebastjian Berenji. It features a 4.5-inch hand-rubbed Elmax blade with a Borka pattern and a white stingray handle covered in a black Tsuka wrap. The knife is just 9 inches in overall length and light at 6.7 ounces. It comes with a Chattanooga Leather Works sheath with a Borka crest logo.
4. Borka Blades/Bastenelli “Cyrus”
A collaborative effort between two of the best knife-makers in the world, the Cyrus is a fixed blade with different versions. The difference is seen in the blade finish, grind, menuki, and Stingray inlays. However, the handles are all Tsukamaki. A 3.25-inch D2 blade with a Borka pattern, the overall length of these knives is 7.25 inches with a total weight of 4 ounces. They come with a black Kydex sheath.
5. Borka Blades/Bond Knives “Shylock”
Another collaborative effort, this time between Sebastjian Berenji and Mike Bond, this is another of the more stunning custom knives. There’s a ThermoReactive Fusion coating on the handle’s tribal etch design that leaves it with a semi-matte finish. With 3.75-inch CPM-154 blade and 5.25-inch titanium handle, there’s an overall length of 8.75 inches. At 10 ounces, it’s heavier than one would imagine when looking at its size.
6. Marfione Custom “Hawk”
This is an automatic knife with a menacing hawkbill blade. The blade is two-tone bronze and fitted with a black handle of anodized aluminum. While the original version of this knife came out in 1996, it was remodeled in 2019 to improve its functionality and aesthetics. The blade is 4 inches long with an overall length of 8.75 inches and a weight of 5 ounces.
7. Jerry Moene “Mongoose”
This flipper knife is Damasteel from blade to handle, with a honeycomb pattern on the handle to make it more eye-catching. With a recurve blade that makes its best function cutting and slicing, this is an incredible piece to add to any enthusiast’s collection. The blade on the “Mongoose” is just 3.625 inches while the handle is 4.25 inches, giving it a total length of 8 inches, while only weighing 4 ounces.
8. Marfione Custom “Dirac”
Exceptional craftsmanship is featured throughout Marfione’s Dirac model, which is limited edition. It’s an OTF (out-the-front) automatic knife with a black hefted aluminum handle. The most stunning feature of the double-edged blade is the Vegas Forge Mosaic Damascus, which has an interesting contrast with the blue anodized hardware.
9. Bastinelli “Sin”
With a skull engraved black D2 blade and black or tan wrapped handle, this fixed blade knife is simple, serviceable, and impressive. It’s incredibly lightweight at just 2 ounces and has a 3.25-inch blade that gives it an overall length of 7 inches. Another knife that appears to draw influence from the Far East, this custom-made knife should be perfect for engraving.
10. A2D “Mini Fighter”
This is a smaller knife that comes in at 6.75 inches in total length and a blade that’s just 3.25 inches. However, what it lacks in size, it makes up for in design with a Chad Nichols Damascus blade (black and gold) and a black makarta and mokume handle.
