Ernest Emerson began making custom knives in his garage in 1979, and he quickly gained popularity and renown due to his unique designs, the quality of his work and the expertise he brought to knife construction as a hand-to-hand combat instructor. Emerson Knives today still makes and manufactures all their knives in the United States and is dedicated to the idea that the knives it creates have a basis in tactical application.

Emerson’s designs have been featured at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Smithsonian Museums, and he has worked with the United States Navy to design specialized knives for their special warfare and international protection details.

In addition to other high-quality design features, Emerson knives feature a patented wave-shaped opening mechanism that can be used to open the knife with one hand as it is being withdrawn from a pocket. Emerson’s designs are durable, innovative and a worthy investment.
